| What the heck is a Pirogue? A pirogue is a flat bottom boat like a canoe that is used to get through the shallow marsh waters. For the most part, the waters of the marsh are very shallow. In some cases it's necessary to travel over mud flats. A pirogue is used to get through these shallow areas. A pirogue is made of fiberglass. Although not as stable as a canoe, it is the only way to get through the shallow marsh. It's flat bottom allows transversing over mud and through shallow waters. You need a pirogue to get to the duck blind and to go after ducks you've shot if you don't have a dog. |
