| The Green-Winged Teal come down to the marshes of Louisiana later than the Blue-Wings. The drake is easily recognized by it's brownish head with the green strip and both drake and hen have green on their wings. Like the Blue-Winged Teal, they are a small and very fast flying duck. We probably don't see as many Green-Wings as we do Blue-Wings. They are fun to hunt and great eating. We often cook teal breasts for breakfast and they taste great in a gumbo. |
